Corona RV Parking Restrictions Make Indoor Storage Ideal

Most municipalities place restrictions on how long recreational vehicles (RVs) and other oversized vehicles such as boats and trailers can be parked on city streets. Thus, unless the property owner or renter resides on a lot with oversized parking available on it, he or she is going to have to seek storage elsewhere.

Plus, as we mentioned in an earlier article, even when the city doesn't get you parking-wise, your homeowners association (HOA) or property covenants might. Most HOAs (and many covenants) forbid parking on one's property except for short periods for loading and unloading.

Take the city of Corona as a starting point. The Circle City indeed places fairly onerous restrictions on oversized vehicle parking. Here are the details from the citY;

"It is a violation of the Corona Municipal Code (10.20.250(a)) to park oversized vehicles (recreational motor home vehicle) on a public street between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.

"Residents of the City of Corona can obtain permission to park a recreational vehicle (Motor home) on public streets for 72 hours to load or unload their R.V. (motor home) without the worry of receiving a parking citation between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.

"Corona residents can call (951) 736-2355, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. After 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and all legal holidays, call (951) 736-2334.

"The following information is required: name, phone number, license plate number, make, model, color of R.V. and the date the R.V. will be parked at the location.

"Non-motorized vehicles (trailers, boats, 5th wheels) can not be parked on the public street, per Corona Municipal Code (10.20.250(b)). A non-motorized vehicle may be parked on the public street, attached to a vehicle for 72 hours only."

Rather than go through all this bureaucratic rigamarole, most RV and boat owners in Corona are going to take the intelligent route and store their oversized vehicles when not in use.
